Dave Lee Travis Attends Canine Partners Event

Tuesday 20th October 2009: Canine Partners (Registered Charity No. 803680), a charity specialising in providing highly trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities, was last week joined by legendary DJ Dave Lee Travis at an event that took place at The Barn, Chilton, Bucks.

The event, kindly supported by the Roger & Jean Jefcoate Trust, consisted of a Canine Partners demonstration to show how these amazing dogs can help people with disabilities by picking up dropped items, opening doors and much more.  The demonstration took place at the Chilton Estate, owned by Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, the Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire.  Dave Lee Travis attended as a guest of Roger Jefcoate, an active supporter of Canine Partners.

Isabel Campbell, Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Canine Partners comments, “This event was an opportunity to raise awareness of the work of Canine Partners in the Buckinghamshire area.  We are hoping to establish a Support Group in the area and will need all the help we can from volunteers, fundraisers and more!  We were delighted to have attendance from such high profile guests, which couldn’t have got us off to a better start.”
