Charity Places for Inaugural Brighton Marathon

Canine Partners has a number of charity places available for the inaugural Brighton Marathon.  Taking place on Sunday 18th April 2010, the 26.2 mile event will tour England’s most popular seaside city, taking in glorious views of the South Downs and along the coast. Check the "Challenge pages" for more information on this and any other events.

Raising money for Canine Partners will help to transform the lives of more people like Claire Graham from Eastbourne, whose Canine Partner Ulli helps her with every day tasks such as dressing, doing the washing and shopping.  Claire, a wheelchair user, was partnered with Ulli in 2005 and hasn’t looked back since. “Having a Canine Partner is a life changing experience,” comments Claire.  “I can't imagine how I managed life before Ulli. He not only helps me with everyday living and tasks, but he is such a character that he makes me laugh everyday and as the saying goes, ‘laughter is the best medicine!’"

Isabel Campbell, Director of Fundraising and Marketing comments, “We are delighted to offer charity places for the Brighton Marathon and welcome anyone up for a challenge, especially those who have been unsuccessful at getting a place for the London Marathon. As a small independent charity, we do rely on our network of fundraisers out in the community – so please join the team!”

To secure one of our places we are asking for a £40 registration fee with a fundraising target of £400, to help us purchase a new puppy for training to become a future Canine Partners Assistance Dog. If you, your friends, family or colleagues would like to take part in the Brighton Marathon for Canine Partners, please contact Julie James on 01730 716015 or email for more details on sponsorship forms and fundraising support
