Gift Aid – Make your donation go further at no extra cost to you!

Gift Aid is a simple scheme that enables us to claim an additional Basic Tax rate of 20%, thus 25p from every £1 donated by UK taxpayers. This means a £10 donation will be worth £12.50 to us, at no extra cost to you!

To qualify for Gift Aid, you must pay an amount of tax and/or capital gains tax at least equal to the amount to be reclaimed in a tax year. All we need is your name, address and your permission to Gift Aid your donations – please use the Gift Aid Declaration Form (PDF) or call us on 08456 580480.

Not many people know this… If you are a higher rate taxpayer you can also claim tax relief for yourself at 20% (i.e. the difference between the higher rate of tax at 40% and the basic rate at 20%) by including details of your donations on your Self Assessment form. Alternatively, you can donate this rebate directly to Canine Partners on the same form (using the code GAS75UG) and increase it further through Gift Aid.

If you are owed tax by the taxman, you can give your repayment to Canine Partners simply by filling in this form. It’s an easy way to make a donation – and you can use Gift Aid to increase the value of your gift.

More tax-effective ways of giving:

Payroll Giving, Gifts in your Will (or legacies), Share Giving, Tax effective donations by companies.

We do hope this helps, please contact us for any further information required or call on 08456 580 480.

CEO's Blog

More dogs trained already and the intrepid CEO visits the big smoke (twice)

23 Jan

I don’t often get to put a suit on. Going to London Town always seems like a good excuse to pretend I’m a commuter, otherwise the dust tends to settle on the old dark blue M&S cloth. So the last two weeks have been pretty exciting, as I’ve had not just one but two occasions to take the train up from Sussex and get lost on the underground. The reason for the visits has been to visit venues where we are holding events this year in celebration of our 25th anniversary – the London Charterhouse looks amazing and will make a stunning backdrop for an event we will be holding in June, while the Cavalry and Guards Club looks similarly brilliant. We have been lucky enough to be granted a donation by the Club to allow us to put on an event there in September. Read more

Canine Partners’ Leicestershire Training Centre

Canine Partners needs to raise £3.1million to build a second Training Centre in order to train more dogs and change more lives.

We have purchased a site in a village called Osgathorpe, halfway between Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Loughborough, which has a range of barns, outbuildings and associated land. The plan is to replace the barns and adapt some of the outbuildings to create the specialised buildings we need.

Having a Midlands Training Centre will not only increase our output, it will also make the charity far more accessible for those on our waiting list who are unable to make the long journey to our centre in West Sussex. 42% of the applications we received last year were from people living in the mid and northern regions of the UK. Many of our existing partnerships will also benefit from being able to receive support from the new centre.

The site will consist of a training centre and office facilities, fully accessible accommodation and kennelling.

This is an extremely exciting time for Canine Partners and we would be delighted to receive your support.

For more information about this project, please contact Cat Harvey on 01730 716018 or email catharvey@caninepartners.org.uk

Jobs available at the new centre will be advertised on our Vacancies page here: Work for us
