Canine Partners appoints new Director of Finance and HR

Canine Partners, who provides specially trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities, is today announcing the appointment of Clive Murray as Director of Finance and HR.  Clive replaces Bruce Jenkins, who retires after 14 years with the Charity.

After starting his working life with accountancy practices in Edinburgh and Hong Kong, Clive worked in charity and not-for-profit finance for 20 years.  Initially this was with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Australia, UK and Fiji.  He developed a passion for dogs after he and his wife were adopted by two Fijian street dogs, which eventually came back to the UK with them and now live a charmed life in the Sussex countryside.

As part of his role Clive will be responsible for the financial and people management of the Charity as well as acting as company secretary, providing guidance on all corporate governance issues and compliance with all financial reporting and accounting requirements.  He will also share in management and leadership of Canine Partners, playing a vital role in advising both the CEO and Board of Trustees.

“I first heard of Canine Partners several years ago and it was really exciting when I discovered a suitable vacancy near to where I live,” says Clive.  “I knew Canine Partners was a progressive growing charity and I wanted to be part of that.  I am keen to do my bit to make more people aware of the work we do and make the most of the funds that are raised.  I have already been impressed with the staff, volunteers, dogs and people with disabilities who support the Charity.  I am delighted to be playing a part in contributing to the fantastic work that Canine Partners is nationally renowned for and joining the Canine Partners family.”

Andy Cook, CEO at Canine Partners comments – “We are pleased to have appointed someone with Clive’s calibre to replace Bruce, who has played a significant part in the financial success of the charity for so long.  I wish Clive luck in his new role and Bruce all the best for his retirement.”
