You Are Here : Family to participate in Great South Run for Canine Partners
Matthew Collett (37) will be running the 10-mile road race, as well as joining his wife and children Christian (8) and Jessica (5) in the 1.5km Mini-run on 29 October.
The Collett family are no strangers to competing, as Christian has just represented Hermitage Primary at his first interschool competition in which the Cross Country Club relay team won a silver medal. Matthew himself also competed in the London Marathon and Great South Run in 2010.
Matthew has been inspired to raise funds for Canine Partners, as his mum Sheila Sadler from Washford in Somerset has canine partner Kerly after being injured in a road traffic accident. “I have seen first hand the impact an assistance dog can have on an individual, as well as that person’s immediate family. Kerly has transformed my Mum’s life, thanks to the dedication and commitment of the Canine Partners team who are a true inspiration.”
