Join the New Malden support group for Canine Partners

On 10 November, Gillian Money kindly hosted a mini bridge drive that began with Eileen Reynolds from Sutton giving a talk on how canine partner Icharus has changed her life.  Icharus even managed to pull off a shoe and sock from one of the participants!  Eight people played bridge for approximately two hours and were provided with tea, cakes and took part in a small raffle.  This resulted in £64 being raised for Canine Partners and more people in the local area being aware of the work the Charity does to change the lives of people with disabilities.

There were also two sessions at St Mary’s Church, Wimbledon on 20th and 27th November selling Christmas cards and Canine Partners merchandise.  These raised £59.70 and £56.05 respectively.

Support group organiser Alice Child says, “We are delighted by the support we have received from the local community since we set up the New Malden support group.  However, we are still looking for people to volunteer their services to help spread the word about how a canine partner can change the life of a person with disabilities, as well as raising much needed funds.”
