Super Pet Dog Competition for Canine Partners
Taking place at Queen Elizabeth County Park, near Petersfield the event is open to all pet dogs regardless of size, breed or ability. There will also be a party for all rescue dogs. Refreshments are available as well as doggy stalls. The event will be followed by a Kennel Club licensed Breed & Novelty Dog Show with Obedience at 12noon.
Organiser Glenis Lawrenson, who is a volunteer puppy parent for Canine Partners comments, “This is a great day out for all dog lovers. There will be lots going on, whether you want to enter your dog in a competition or just come along to spectate! We are delighted to be able to raise funds for Canine Partners once again and help to support the valuable work the Charity does to change the lives of people with disabilities.”
Ian Runnells from Gosport has FSH muscular dystrophy and has this to say about his canine partner. “Kelty does many amazing things for me. She’ll get the phone from any room in the house, she’ll hand over my money at the shops, she’ll open and close doors, get the mail, take off my socks, empty the washing machine, the list goes on and on. However, the truth of the matter is that although all the practical tasks are fantastic, and every one is a help to me, I have found in many ways it’s the simplest of tasks that she does for me that is the biggest help of all.”
Entry to the Super Pet Dog competition costs £3 with rosettes and dog treats for all those that complete the course and four trophies to be won. For further information please contact Glenis on 02392 00655 or Brenda on 02392 597160.
