More about Elaine:

"Hi my name is Elaine Potter and I am the satellite trainer for Heyshott/ West Sussex. I have worked in a rescue centre for over 20 years and have worked with different type of dogs. While I was there at the centre I work my way up the ladder from a canine carer to rehoming dogs I also ran my own dog training club with people with pups of all ages which ran for a few years.  I then moved to a rescue centre in Norfolk and became an Assistant Manager where I was responsible for 80 dogs and 10 staff.  I was there for 2 years doing maternity cover then I moved back to the south to be with my partner who also works for Canine Partners as an Advanced Trainer we have 3 dogs and 6 chickens and now live in a little cottage just outside Midhurst.  I have been with Canine Partners for 4 years I started my time here doing advance training and matching the dogs up with new partners.  I then moved to do more on the puppy side of the training.  I enjoy my role, going out and about training pups in different environments and meet up with all the puppy parents for their weekly training classes and having lots of fun with them."

What have we all been doing??

Andy Cook - Saturday, July 26, 2014
You know how sometimes you come up with a brainwave which seemed a good idea at the time….? Well that’s what happened to me this morning. It just popped into my head. “What a great idea!”, I thought, “why didn’t I think of that before? You really are a brilliant man!”. That was several hours ago, and with the passing of time comes the realisation that some ideas are best left inside the box. Actually, to be fair, it was quite a good idea. Fo  Read More

Canine Partners’ Leicestershire Training Centre

Canine Partners needs to raise £3.1million to build a second Training Centre in order to train more dogs and change more lives.

We have purchased a site in a village called Osgathorpe, halfway between Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Loughborough, which has a range of barns, outbuildings and associated land. The plan is to replace the barns and adapt some of the outbuildings to create the specialised buildings we need.

Having a Midlands Training Centre will not only increase our output, it will also make the charity far more accessible for those on our waiting list who are unable to make the long journey to our centre in West Sussex. 42% of the applications we received last year were from people living in the mid and northern regions of the UK. Many of our existing partnerships will also benefit from being able to receive support from the new centre.

The site will consist of a training centre and office facilities, fully accessible accommodation and kennelling.

This is an extremely exciting time for Canine Partners and we would be delighted to receive your support.

For more information about this project, please contact Cat Harvey on 01730 716018 or email catharvey@caninepartners.org.uk

Jobs available at the new centre will be advertised on our Vacancies page here: Work for us
